The Woodland Township clerk pays the township's bills, is the record keeper, election manager and a voting member of the Woodland Township board. The following is a list of duties as required by law:

  • Maintains all Woodland Township records.
  • Maintains General Ledger of of Accounts.
  • Records, maintains and publishes Woodland Township meeting minutes.
  • Keeps the Woodland Township Book of Oaths.
  • Keeps voter registration files and conducts elections.
  • Keeps the Woodland Township Ordinance Book.
  • Information about Cemetery and Transfer of Deeds.

Voter Registration Information

Residents of Woodland Township may register to vote Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woodland Township Clerk's office. You may also register to vote at any Secretary of State branch office in Michigan.

Absentee Voter Information

Any registered voter can vote by absentee ballot at any time. They must first apply for an absentee ballot by completing an absentee ballot application form and returning it to the clerk's office. It must be signed and dated to be accepted.  The clerk will then mail an absentee ballot to the address given on the application in advance of the next election.

By law, Michigan voters must apply for an absentee ballot for every election. Voters can request to be put on the permanent absentee ballot list which will trigger the automatic mailing of the application in advance of each election.
