The Woodland Township clerk pays the township's bills, is the record keeper, election manager and a voting member of the Woodland Township board. The following is a list of duties as required by law:

• Maintains all Woodland Township records.
• Maintains General Ledger of of Accounts.
• Records, maintains and publishes Woodland Township meeting minutes.
• Keeps the Woodland Township Book of Oaths.
• Keeps voter registration files and conducts elections.
• Keeps the Woodland Township Ordinance Book.
• Information about Cemetery and Transfer of Cemetery Deeds.

Voter Registration Information:

Register to vote online (online registration for the upcoming election is not available within 14 days of an election)

Requirements:

• Michigan driver’s license number or Michigan state ID number
  AND
• Last 4-digits of Social Security number

How to register: Visit Michigan.gov/Vote to complete and submit an online application.

Deadline: Voters may register to vote online 15 or more days prior to Election Day.

Within 14 days of an election, voters who wish to vote in the upcoming election must register in person and present proof of residency at their local clerk’s office.

You may also register to vote at any Secretary of State branch office in Michigan, or by appointment at the Woodland Township Clerk's office by calling 269-367-4915 or emailing clerk@woodlandtwp.com.

Absentee Voter Information

Any registered voter can vote by absentee ballot at any time. The application can be filed online or you can request a paper application from your local clerk.  The clerk will then mail an absentee ballot to the address given on the application in advance of the next election.

By law, Michigan voters must apply for an absentee ballot for every election. Voters can request to be put on the permanent absentee ballot list which will trigger the automatic mailing of the application in advance of each election.

Request an absentee ballot online:

Voters can submit a completed absentee ballot application to their local clerk online. Once the ballot application has been processed, the absentee ballot will be mailed to the voter beginning 40 days before the election.

Requirements: The following voter information is required to apply online:

• Full name
• Michigan driver's license or ID number or acknowledgement that the voter does not have a Michigan driver’s license or ID
• Date of birth
• Eye color
• Last four digits of the voters Social Security number
• Mailing address
• An uploaded signature or authorization to use your stored digital signature on file with the Secretary of State

Deadline: Online applications may be submitted until 5 p.m. the Friday before Election Day. To ensure there is enough time to receive and return an absentee ballot, plan on submitting the absentee ballot application online at least 15 days before Election Day.

Absentee Voter Information

NOTE: If you chose to vote your absent ballot in person at an Early Voting or Election Day location, this information will not update on Michigan.gov/Vote or send a notification if you are subscribed to notifications. Ballot tracking is limited to absent voter ballot and ballot application activity.

Proof of residency requirements:

Proof of residency is official documentation (paper or digital) that lists a voter’s current name and address. When registering to vote within 14 days of an election, voters must present one form of proof of residency in person at a local clerk’s office.
